IPL's fever onset ...once again

"We have forgotten ABC, we only remember IPL!!!", now this is what Ahmedabadians say. Seeing this on Times Editorial truly amazes me to a great extent, perhaps ridiculously. Or should I say that as the days went on, I feel that  'cricket for cricket's sake' has changed to 'cricket for auction's sake'. Forget those old days where cheering and whistling were the only pleasures of cricket-watching, now you get a "mixed-masala". Now cricket has emerged as a full bag (perhaps a mixed one!!!) of  'mastii', 'mazaa', 'controversy', 'money-matters', 'film-stars'(now this what I have to say that cricket has extended to celebrities rather than players) and how can I forget "the great AUCTION".  Actually this what leads to a mind-boggling fan- following of cricket these days. IPL has been rocking the country since its last 3 seasons and we hope to see much more in the 4th season; lots of sixers and hundreds of wickets, scores of boundaries and whatever else you wish. Cricket has its own peculiarities(as we have read it in History), it is the only game which is not time-bounded...indeed. Each and every news channel woes to and telecast about IPL 24 hours and if it's not enough then it's all about talking with cricket fans.
Aha! now I got something interesting to share with you all. IPL's fever soaring high and our exams approaching...what a 'jodi'. Although, cricket doesn't make a larger occupancy in my mind but it really does in others...yeah...now I think I'll really get something "hot" and "fussy" to see around. Students ruffling to see cricket in the vicinity of their exams...quite interesting to see!!! The craze for entertainment(can't even call it cricket) in youths ranges from tattos to whistling their favorite team songs and of course bidding their mere Rs. 10 or Rs.20 money in their pockets. Or seemingly very intangibly quoted by Amul :- "IPL- Indian Players Lottery". And of course, we'll witness sweats and excitement getting crossed over all the winter colds. But still, irrespective of all the above mentioned exciting facts, I miss the old craze of cricket, whose excitement would adhere to our souls and protruded so much to cross all heartbeats just at hit of a bat. Now-a-days, cricket is hugely affected by the money and corruption (now this is what IPL-3 was all about). Players get attracted towards the bundle of notes given to them and then performing well never matters...all it matter is the money given to them. And how can I ever leave the devil of match fixing. Ah!... I don't want to continue with all these filthy matters.

Optimistically, I want to pray God for a honest game this time and not for a pre-decided- "Main Khilari tu anari". All I want to happen is that a Game should be played like a game but not Business avenue and if all this comes true this time then " Cricket dekhna to banta hai BOSS"...:-)
